Generating a 20-year income stream for a Nottingham-based clothing manufacturer

Our client is a traditional family-owned clothing manufacturer with a long history in Nottingham’s Lace Market. When they moved to new headquarters just outside the city centre, the owner decided it was a good time to become a greener, more cost-efficient company.

We were happy to help. As well as installing a 50-panel solar PV system, Lime-Circle designed and installed an ultra-efficient wood chip biomass heating system to replace their ageing roof-slung gas heaters.

5 heat zones, each wirelessly controlled

To aid efficiency of the whole system, our design incorporates 5 zones, each with its own wireless controller, allowing heat to be provided only when and where it is required. 300 metres of heat main pipe work run from the highly efficient ETA 90kw boiler to radiators and unit heaters across these zones, providing heat on demand. This heat automation, coupled with the fact that the ETA boiler can also be controlled remotely via the internet, means the owner has total control over both his heating system and his costs.

Bespoke exterior hopper for flexibility

Lime-Circle also designed and installed an 8 cubic metre exterior hopper, coupled with the boiler. Thanks to the unique opening aperture, the hopper can be filled by either a blown wood chip delivery or by a grab lorry delivery.
